  • Authentication Data: Your institutional email address.
  • Profile Data: Your name, department or major, and professional bio.
  • Research Data: Your research interests (tags) and links to your past collaborative projects.
  • Technical Data: We store your IP address temporarily for security purposes (to prevent magic link spamming) and session identifiers to keep you logged in.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used strictly for:

  • Authenticating your identity via passwordless "Magic Links."
  • Allowing other verified users to find you for research partnerships.
  • Displaying institutional resources available for sharing.

4. No Third-Party Sharing

Zero Sharing Policy: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixels, or any other third-party tracking services. Your data stays within our secure database.

5. Cookies

We use exactly one type of cookie: Session Cookies. These are strictly necessary to keep you logged into the platform as you navigate between pages. These cookies expire automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity and contain no tracking or personal information.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Regardless of your location, we provide all users with high-standard data rights:

  • Right to Access: You can download a full copy of your data in a machine-readable JSON format at any time via your Profile page.
  • Right to be Forgotten: You can permanently delete your account at any time. This is a "hard delete"—all personal profile data and project links associated with you will be wiped from our database.
  • Right to Rectification: You may update your profile information at any time via the Settings dashboard.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored on a secure server using modern encryption standards for database connections (PDO). While no system is 100% secure, we minimize risk by collecting only the bare minimum of data required to run the platform.
